Preperation for Binding

Facing pages, for book layouts
Bleed - 3mm (standard)
slug - used for fold marks or creep marks / job information

Considerations:
 - if printing on A4, has to be printed on paper bigger than A3 to fir crop marks and bleed. Have to use digital print resources.
- Commercial considerations vs access to resources.

Number of pages - panflet or saddle stitch - must be a multiple of 4
consider binding when setting inside margins

Number of Printers Spreads

Print Booklet

2 Up Saddle Stitch
- Print settings > tick print blank pages
- set up > page position: centred
- Marks and bleed > Tick crop marks
- Printer > two sided: short edge binding

Perfect Bound, for japanese stitch ect.
Multiple of 2
- file > print
- centred
- crop marks
- printer > 2 sided > long edge binding

2 Up Perfect Bound
- Print > print blank pages
- centred
- crop marks
- Printer > short edge for double sided

Additional Considerations
- uper limit - 8 sheets for saddle
- stitch in one section
- will depend on stock
- avoid creep by outputting in seprate sections
- print booklet > set up > print range of pages
1- 16
17 - 32
33 - 48

when using a mixture of stock:
- Use page range
- pick out specific pages,
- e.g 5-6, 11-12
