OUGD406 - Studio Brief 3 - Raum Catalogue Design

OUGD406

Studio Brief 3

Catalogue Design.

The group that won the brief to design the identity for the end of year show was Raum. I have been selected, along with Neve, to collate the catalogue for the show.

For the catalogue we have decided to make between 100 and 150 basic booklets with black and white interior that can be handed out at the event. There will be 3 limited addition full colour catalouges that will be kept by the college.

The cover page will be screen printed using blue and white with highlights of orange. The booklets will be bound using orange thread that will be colour matched to the orange throughout the overall design. We plan to use a sewing matching to bound the pages.

The first page of the catalogue will define the name of the exhibition and give an explanation to the design of the exhibit. This will be followed by a page of german words and the english translation formatted in the same way as the title.

A time line runs through the catalogue. The same timeline is used for way finding. This helps format the catalogue in date order. Each print will have the date of the event, the designers name, a short sentence explaining the piece and their design account handle (if applicable).

To start with I collated the information about each print by level 4 students and ordered them by date.

I will chase up the 4 students who have not submitted the information about their work.
I will repeat this for level 5.
