Photoshop Animation Workshop

Learning how to use photoshop to create a walk through animation of a mobile app.

Frame by Frame Animation

Window > timeline

create frame by frame animation

tweens - in between frames, makes the animaion look smoother

Frames to add: no more than 24

file > export > render video > adobe media encoder

frame rate: 24

Document size: 1920x1080HD (web)

Save for web legacy

gif format - change % to make smaller

Gif's have limited colour palette 

Play forever

Do not use gifs for render

Video Animation

Create video timeline

time line tab > set frame rate to 24 (european standard)

Finger selector > Smart object (essentially a linked file, can be re-sized and transformed) - only way to edit is to double click

cmdJ - duplicates layers

add effect like blur or darken to duplicate layer, fade in and out using opacity

key frames - pick layer > drop down > click stop watch

edit free transform > change size of SMART OBJECT

Duplicate key frame > right click > copy > new key frame at particular frame, right click, paste.

Cog button > resolution 

Save as > file > export > render video

keep H264 (unless transparency)

HD 1080p 24

all frames
