Idea Generation 

Layout design for the app, based on the preferences of the Personas created from the target audience.

Idea 1

Design 1

This design is based on circle buttons. Icons inside of the circle could replace text. Colours can be assigned to each stroke and distance in the competition section. This is a basic design with plenty of negative space. It might not engage the younger target audience members.

Relation to Persona's

Would work well for Rosie as it is a simple design and serious in nature, However, this design would not be suitable for Jenson as the design would not get him excited about the app and he would be more likely to lose attention.

Idea 2

Design 2

Illustrative design. uses illustrations instead of text. The app itself is very information heavy. The idea is the illustrations balance out an otherwise very text orientated design.

Relation to Persona's 

This app would suit the more outgoing personalities and the younger ages in the target audience. However the illustration could be perceived as childish, which may deter strong minded or older persona's such as Emme and Charlie. Additionally, it would not work for Rosie as the images may be distracting. Illustration style and colour choices will be essential in this design. 

Idea 3

Design 3

Design 3 focuses on clearly defined sections. The competition section is very minimalistic. the user can get to the information they need in the minimal amount of clicks. The preparation section will be more engaging, with a more detailed design. It will have some illustrations to break up the type.

Relation to Persona's

This design suits many of the persona's rather than just one. it would work for Rosie as the competition section is section is succinct so she can focus in on her upcoming event. it will also show all the essential information in one place, which would be good for Jenson and Emme as they would not just read through masses of text.

Idea 3 is the strongest as is it tailored to several of the persona's. I will now take this design into Illustrator to design further
