The app is created for swimmers, therefore it will be used on poolside. At competitions the flow through the app to find the needed information needs to be as quick as possible with the minimal amount of gestures. The app has to be simple to use and be a helpful tool for the athletes, rather than a distraction.
The preparation side of the app (personal bests, upcoming meets, previous performances) can be more visually interesting.
Who - swimmers aged 10-16 (British Swimming Age Groups)
Why - compile information needed at a competition all in one place, tailored for individual athletes.
Where - at competitions and prior to competitions
Complicated, but swimmers would understand it which is fine because its a very niche market.
Keep it simple - not too many words
Use the same format throughout
Boxes rather than tables
Don't need to show all the information up front. It could reveal its self if clicked on.
