Lanyard Design
Considerations
Must contain precise information in short bursts.
Split up the mass of information that would be found on line up posters or online.
Includes extras such as site map, special thanks to sponsors and explanation of the festival philosophy.
Format
A5
Short Edge Bind
Double sided print
Ring for neck strapped. In industry this would be dye cut. However limited resources may require laser cutting or other methods.
The lanyard begins with a short introduction to the festival, an explanation of its philosophy and why it was created. The lanyard is then split into days and colour coded. Friday is pink, Saturday is orange and Sunday is blue. Each day has a title page and line up summaries for the activities field, the main stage and the outdoor cinema. There is a site map that shows how Roundhay park would be arranged to hold the festival. There are separate areas for camping, exercise, music and cinema. The map uses the colour scheme that has been used throughout the identity of the festival. Finally, there is information about the festival, social media tags and hash tags to promote the festival. The design has a lot of room to breathe as it will be small scale and legibility is important. The layout of text is simple and uses a large point size as users will flick through quickly to find the information that they need.
Each page in the lanyard has a unique design following the existing aesthetic of the other elements created for the festival. The assets and colour scheme used on each page are consistently used throughout posters, tickets and advertising.
